Privacy policy
Last updated 19 July 2026 · Faster is in private beta; this policy will be reviewed before public launch.
Faster is an adaptive running coach for iPhone, made by Luft Design AS, Oslo, Norway ("we", "us"). Luft Design AS is the data controller for the personal data described here. The short version, which the long version below never contradicts: your data stays yours — we coach with it, we don’t sell it.
What we collect
- Account data. Your email address, and your name if you choose to share it when signing in with Apple.
- Beta waitlist. If you join the beta from this website, the email address (and first name, if given) you submit — kept only to send your TestFlight invite and never shared or sold.
- Health and training data, only with your permission. Faster reads from Apple Health what you explicitly allow: workouts (distance, time, pace, heart rate, GPS routes), sleep, resting heart rate, and heart-rate variability (HRV). You can also rate how a run felt (RPE) inside the app. We read this data to coach you; we never write marketing data back to Apple Health.
- Goals and preferences. Your goal (distance or race and its date), preferred run days, coaching style, weekly volume, and notification settings.
- Coach conversation. Messages you exchange with the coach in the app, so the conversation has memory.
- Challenges. If you start a duel: its date range, the optional stake text you write, invite codes, and daily aggregate kilometres for each side.
- Notifications. A push token, if and only if you turn notifications on. Turning them off deletes it.
- Product analytics. Basic usage events (for example, that an onboarding step was completed or a plan was adapted) to understand what works. Analytics events do not contain your health values, routes, or chat content.
What we use it for
- Making the daily call: readiness, adapting today’s session, and explaining why.
- Building and reshaping your training plan, forecasts, and personal records.
- The coach chat, morning and post-run notes, and the Sunday report.
- Running duels you choose to start, and the notifications you opt into.
- Fixing bugs and improving the product.
We do not sell personal data. We do not show ads. We do not use your data for third-party marketing.
Where it lives and who processes it
Your data is stored in your own account in our database, hosted by Supabase, and is scoped so only you (and the systems acting for you) can read it. Data is encrypted in transit. A small number of processors help us run the service under data-processing agreements: our database and backend host (Supabase), Apple (sign-in, TestFlight, and push delivery via Expo’s notification service), an AI model provider that powers the coach’s reasoning, and a product-analytics service. When the coach reasons about your day, the minimum training context needed is sent to the AI provider to generate that response; it is not used to train their models under our agreement.
What others can see
Nothing, unless you share it. A duel page you choose to share shows first names or chosen names, daily aggregate kilometres, and the stake text — never individual runs, routes, pace, or any health data. Apple Health data itself never leaves your device except as described above.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while you have an account. Email m@luft.design to delete your account; we remove your personal data from our systems. Your source data in Apple Health is yours and stays on your device and Apple account regardless.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing, and you can object to processing. Write to m@luft.design. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Children
Faster is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always tells you when it was last touched.
